Engineering in India
India has a huge population of students, technically a $180-bn edtech sector. And in India, engineering & medical is a big thing for students, ( I mean it ). There are 31 NITs, 23 IITs & 25 IIITs across India, and also 4000+ private colleges for pursuing engineering as a career ( Under-Graduate ). And the crowd is huge. JEE Main & JEE Advanced are the two screening exams by which a student is allowed to pursue Engineering from the best colleges in India. And the craze is going up day by day. Nowadays Students from class 7, class 8 also opt for coaching to prepare themselves for the JEE examination. So coaching is a thing here in India.
( I am not against coaching but this thing became a “must thing” for students according to the so-called “society”. I am an engineering student and I got average marks in my 10th & 12th boards, and, even I opt for JEE coaching, not from any particular institution but from individual teachers and I got a 6 digit rank in my JEE Mains as I said I am an average student the teachers are very good and with the same coaching one of my friends cracked the JEE exam, now I think the coaching I opt-in 12th standard for JEE is a waste of money. A student can easily crack JEE Mains with the help of the free resources available on the Internet. Amazon Academy does the same, it is totally free. )
My point is Coaching is not mandatory but it is being by the society pressure and the crowd follows that.
There are two big companies in India, who were already doing this. Unacademy & BYJU’s ( paid ). There are other platforms also, who teach students for JEE like entrance exams some are free some are paid. There are lots of individual teachers who teach students on the Youtube platform which is free of cost. And there are offline institutions like Aakash, Fitjee, Pathfinder, Kota, who are doing the same in exchange for lots and lots of money.
Amazon has done a good job, it will help the JEE & other engineering exam aspirants to prepare for the exam. Check more about technology, Thanks for Reading.
