MediaTek unveiled new Dimensity 1100 & Dimensity 1200 based on 6nm process

MediaTek already announced their Dimensity series, 5G processors, in the previous year. Today MediaTek has introduced two new processors, Dimensity 1100 & Dimensity 1200 for the mid and high-end smartphone offerings.

MediaTek has used a power-efficient and feature-filled 5G-integrated modem in the Dimensity 1100 & Dimensity 1200. There are two modes for a seamless 5G experience one is ‘5G Elevator Mode’ & ‘5G HSR Mode’, the modes automatically switches between them according to the environment condition. According to MediaTek Dimensity 1100 & Dimensity 1200 are the first 5G chip to provide dual standalone 5G SIMs.

Performance

The Dimensity 1100 has 4X Super Cores: Arm Cortex-A78 up to 2.6GHz & 4X Efficiency Cores: Arm Cortex-A55 up to 2GHz. And with the power of  Mali-G77 MC9 this chipset will be capable of providing high-end gaming experience.

On the other hand, the Dimensity 1200 has 1X Ultra Core: Arm Cortex-A78 up to 3GHz with 2X L2 cache, 3X Super Cores: Arm Cortex-A78 up to 2.6GHz, 4X Efficiency Cores: Arm Cortex-A55 up to 2GHz. The Ultra core is the unique one here and this makes this CPU, up to 22% faster performance CPU while also being 25% more power-efficient versus the previous generation.

Camera

MediaTek unveiled new Dimensity 1100 & Dimensity 1200 based on 6nm process

The Dimensity 1200 provides a 40% greater dynamic range while capturing 4K videos. On the other hand, this chipset allows cameras up to 200MP with 20% Faster Night-Shot Capture & AI-Panorama Night-Shot.

The Dimensity 1100 on the other hand allows cameras up to 108MP and it also comes with 20% Faster Night-Shot Capture & AI-Panorama Night-Shot.

Displays

Dimensity 1100 allows FHD+ displays with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, & the Dimensity 1200 allows displays up to 168Hz.

Phones that will come up with Dimensity 1100 & Dimensity 1200 ( Upper-midrange 5G chip )

These two all-new MediaTek SoCs are likely to be present in these OEM’s ( Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, and Realme ) upcoming smartphones by the end of Q1 and beginning of Q2 this year.


Realme: Through a press release, company VP Madhav Sheth shared “The partnership to bring disruptive innovation to users continues in 2021 as well. This year, realme will be one of the first brands to launch a smartphone equipped with the latest generation of MediaTek’s new Dimensity flagship 5G smartphone chip. We will continue to work closely with MediaTek to foster the development, adoption, and large-scale popularity of 5G around the world,” Maybe the Realme’s upcoming X series will be powered by these.
