Features of this ( Budget 5G chip )
Snapdragon 480 5G Connectivity
The modem used in Snapdragon 480 5G is the Snapdragon X51 5G Modem-RF System to support mmWave and Sub-6 GHz 5G. The modem supports Standalone & non-standalone modes which solely means a 5G service built over an existing 4G network and on the other hand, allows completely independent operation of a 5G service without any interaction with an existing 4G core. Not only that this modem supports multi-gigabit 5G connections which gives one flexibility for near-instantaneous uploads and downloads. Especially all of these features will be in a mid-range smartphone that will be affordable.
Vice President of Qualcomm Technologies Kedar Kondap said “Qualcomm Technologies continues to accelerate 5G commercialization globally to make 5G smartphones more accessible, especially as people worldwide continue to connect remotely,” He added “The Snapdragon 480 5G Mobile Platform will exceed OEM’s and consumer’s expectations in delivering high- and mid-tier features at an affordable price.” Thus I give this blog the title “Snapdragon 480 5G, The Budget 5G chip for Mid-Range smartphones”
|Downlink||2.5Gbps ( Max )||800Mbps ( Max )|
|Uplink||660Mbps ( Max )||210Mbps ( Max )|
The Snapdragon 480 5G SoC is based on the 8nm process. It is the first chip by Qualcomm in the 400 series made with the 8nm process and a huge upgrade over Snapdragon 460. This chip is based on the Kryo 460 CPU which is clocked at 2.0 GHz. And the Adreno 619 GPU gives you long-lasting speed, faster graphics rendering, etc. This chipset is Wi-Fi 6 ready and supports Bluetooth 5.1. And talking about charging technology it supports Quick Charge 4+ technology. Qualcomm is claiming that we can see up to a 100% boost in CPU & GPU performance and a 70% gain in AI performance over the last generation.
Now the camera support features are also noticeably interesting. This chip can now allow the cameras to record 13MP images simultaneously that means it is the first chip to support triple ISP. And not only that this chip can allow ultrawide, wide, and telephoto cameras to work all at once or capture triple 720p videos simultaneously. Besides that one can record videos up to 1080p @ 60 FPS from a single camera at a time. The cameras allowed to capture images up to 64MP.
This chipset can allow displays that are FHD+ with a resolution up to 1080 x 2520 @ 120Hz and also HD+ displays with a resolution up to 900 x 1600 @ 90Hz. This is the first chip from 4-series which allows Improved processing advances entertainment across the board, and 120 fps FHD+ display support for super-smooth visuals in games and videos. In terms of Audio output, Qualcomm aptX Audio makes content more immersive with rich, clear audio.
